I’ve just spent eight days wandering around Thailand. I did my best to take notes about things I saw, places I went, and my general feeling about Thailand during my stay. I managed to turn seven of those days into blog posts, which you can read in chronological order here:
Alan Orth
GNU/Linux, Indian food, and Death Metal!
Thailand, Day 7
I’ve been jotting down notes on my phone as I walk around Thailand. I don’t have time to write long posts, so here’s a list of observations, activities, etc.
Still on Koh Samui
Still in Lamai beach on Koh Samui. This beach is so much more calm than Chaweng and Nathon. If you want to get drunk and stumble around yelling, don’t come here.
Early Morning
Remembering how I used to love going to body surf at 8 am in California, I woke up early to go see the ocean in the morning. The sun was still coming up at 6:15, and the beach was so peaceful.
Thailand, Day 6
I’ve been jotting down notes on my phone as I walk around Thailand. I don’t have time to write long posts, so here’s a list of observations, activities, etc.
Breakfast
Still in Koh Samui, at the Nathon port town… I had an “American breakfast” at some small restaurant; I was craving a cup of coffee and couldn’t get into the idea of having it with curry ;)
Moving Around the Island
On a songthaew to Chaweng I met a lady from Manchester who told me of an awesome bookstore in Lamai. Also, she said Lamai is better than Chaweng so when I got there I jumped straight on a truck to Lamai!
Lamai is awesome — less drunk college kids than Chaweng. I found a sweet bungalow for 500 baht. Water is much closer, beach is prettier, town is quieter.
